Đến những năm 70 của thế kỉ 20, Gothic gây ảnh hưởng lớn tới âm nhạc. Âm nhạc Gothic với những tâm trạng tuyệt vọng chán nản, những nỗi đau, sự cô đơn, nỗi mất mát của con người...tạo nên những cảm giác u tối, buồn thảm. Chính vì điều này nên sau này rất nhiều người nhầm lẫn giữa Gothic và Doom; một phần cũng vì nhiều khi giữa hai dòng nhạc này không có giới hạn, hay đúng hơn giới hạn quá mong manh.

Chung quy lại, Gothic metal có thể chia thành ba nhánh: Beauty, Beast, Beauty and the Beast.

+ Beauty: Là những band với giọng nữ cao (soprano) làm chủ đạo, như After Forever , Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Flowing Tears, The Gathering....

+ Beast: những band chỉ sử dụng giọng nam trầm, có thể ấm áp nhưng cũng có thể khàn đục của giọng death như Reflexion, Sentenced, Charon(album The Dying Daylights) hoặc cũng có đôi khi sử dụng giọng nữ làm nền, hát bè, hát phụ họa . Như Crematory , Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, To/Die/For, Tiamat, Katatonia, Nightingale, Cemetary, Crematory, On Thorns I Lay, Septic Flesh.........

Rất đơn giản bởi vì 23 tháng 6 này mới chính thức phát hành CD. :lol:

Progressive metal veterans DREAM THEATER have announced BLACK CLOUDS & SILVER LININGS as the title of their tenth studio album. The band commenced work on the album - their second for Roadrunner Records, following up 2007's Systematic Chaos - in October of last year.

Roadrunner will release the record on June 23. In addition to the standard version CD, the album will also be available on vinyl LP, as well as a 3-disc Special Edition CD that will include the full album, a CD of instrumental mixes of the album and a CD of six cover songs, the titles of which will be revealed at a later date.

Six weeks prior to the June 23 street date, Roadrunner will release one cover song per week through digital retailers.

Drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci are once again at the helm as producers, while Paul Northfield mixed the record.

The band will embark on a world tour in support of the album beginning in Europe throughout June which will be followed by the second edition of the band's PROGRESSIVE NATION tour featuring Zappa Plays Zappa, Pain Of Salvation and Beardfish throughout North America in July/August.

A video for the first single, "A Rite of Passage" will be shot in late March.

Thì đúng là bọn này nhại bài thơ " Đánh đu" của Hồ Xuân Hương mà.

Sau khi nghe xong album này có thể đánh giá (quan điểm cá nhân) như sau:
1. Chất lượng thu tốt. Kỹ thuật đánh khác hẳn so với các band của Việt nam từng nghe: chắc tay và lạ lẫm hơn.
2. Ca từ cũng rất trẻ trung và sâu sắc.
3. Bài 1 và bài 3 thể hiện rõ phong cách Gothic - sympony.
Bài Đu tiên là cách thể hiện khá hay gần giống với Ra khơi của Trần Lập nhưng phá cách hơn nhiều.
Riêng 2 bài Be U và Live wave thì :-s. Trước đây xem quảng cáo ở tivi cứ chửi bọn xì tin nào hát mấy bài này chỉ muốn vả vào...:-ss. Giờ thì biết hóa ra là đám Ngũ Cung). 2 bài này đưa vào album khiến album trở thành tạp phí lù các thể loại.
Giọng ca của ca sĩ chính mình cũng có phần không cảm tình. Lúc thì Rock, lúc thì the thé, lúc thì xì tin...nói chung là chỉ ở dạng năng khiếu:eyes:. Nhưng tớ khoái câu cười đểu trong bài Đu tiên:happy2:.
Tóm lại: 4 sao. Ăn đứt cái đám Unlimited hay Thánh giá đỏ.... toàn đám tóc dài, chất nghệ nhưng năng khiếu lại tỷ lệ nghịch.:12:
